Technology for Electrical Contact Excellence
With the best technology and raw materials, STL customise products for your application
- With core technology ranging from metallurgical bonding to mechanical joining, and cold bonding through to unique metal-processing and transformation skills, STL is fully equipped to tackle the most demanding of customer challenges.
- Our claim of welding the un-weldable, at least in precious metal contacts, can usually be achieved with our specialised know-how.
- Technological innovation, interesting challenges and novel products are what STL does best. By using state-of-the-art methods STL can provide optimised solutions, potentially saving you millions of Euros each year.
Our world-class equipment includes:
Production
Tolerances of a few microns are achieved daily and recorded digitally where needed.
- Customised rolling mills with Volmer and Zumbach measurement equipment provide the records.
- Cold heading machines all with self-learning technology run repeatably within settable boundaries
- Contact welding lines produce with inbuilt vision controlling and recording each part complete with auto-packing
- Bruderer & Ching Fong presses now are sensored up to ensure good parts
- STL production equipment is specialised not-in-the-catalogue and always optimised to the job in hand
Design
STL design is a collaboration between engineers to achieve the optimum solution each time. STL design for manufacture can save you time and cost.
- SolidWorks, LogoPress and Teamwork do STL press-tool design
- Tool manufacture fully integrated with design via Visi software
- 3D modelling includes multislide form tooling
Press-tool Manufacture
STL in-house tool design development is key to our manufacturing philosophy. The tool-making and design experience gives customers confidence in achieving their product every time. Investment in design, equipment and skills is at the heart of STL engineering.
Know-how
Our relationship with both local engineering Universities & TWI gives us access to SEM (scanning electron microscope) facilities give access to academia for the material sciences ranging from rapid prototyping for both plastics and metals through to the latest welding and bonding knowledge.
Quality
Quality is inbuilt from the beginning with FMEA and similar outputs, ISO standards are there, and IATF elements are actively used as we work towards the full award.
